I became a member of Bury Golf Club about 30 years ago. I started golf by taking evening classes run by Mark Jillings at Beyton School and then joined Fornham GC, BSEGC had no vacancies at the time. Before that my main sports had been hockey and cricket. I retired from teaching 15 years ago having taught in Dorset before joining St James Middle School in Bury in 1978. For the past 20 years I have also been Secretary of Suffolk Schools’ Golf Association. I am looking forward to meeting and playing with many Seniors in the coming year in our friendly matches against other clubs as well competing in various competitions, and enjoying social games and events.
