In 2007, after gaining valuable experience, I made the decision to join Bury St Edmunds Golf Club. This move marked an important step in my golfing journey, as I became part of a vibrant club community and continued to progress as a player. I spent most of my career in software development, leading global teams to deliver solutions for telecoms, law enforcement and government clients. Several decades ago at BT’s R&D establishment in Martlesham, I worked on a team exploring the potential impact of something new called the World Wide Web in our workplace. I still wonder what became of that. Following retirement, I balance time with family, music, golf and the occasional football match. I've recently served on both the Social and Seniors’ committees and am now happy to take a turn as Seniors’ Captain. I am excited to take on new challenges and reconnect with both long-time friends and new acquaintances. My goal is to honour the club's traditions while also welcoming the ongoing changes toward greater diversity and equality. BSEGC Waiting List Terms & Conditions Applying to go on our waiting list for membership is not a guarantee that you will be offered a membership at BSEGC. 1. Criteria for Membership Valid England Golf Membership number and handicap index. If you do not have England Golf Membership an assessment will be required by our Professional before any offer of membership is made. The Professional will either recommend your application for membership or recommend further tuition to bring your game up to handicap level for either course. If you require further tuition, then your place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. We only have 7 days membership available. Waiting list application fee £50.00 will be deducted from the joining fee on obtaining a membership place. Should you request a refund a £3.00 admin charge will be administered. 2. Contact The waiting list will be reviewed in March each year after the Annual renewals have taken place in February. BSEGC will email applicants on the waiting list with an offer of membership in date of application order within their age range for membership dependent upon how many spaces are available.
